Tank water heater
A storage water heater that keeps a tank of water hot and ready, reheating it as it cools or as hot water is drawn off. Gas and electric versions exist; the tank, its lining and its anode rod are the parts that determine how long it lasts.
What ends a tank water heater's life?
Corrosion of the tank itself. Once the tank leaks, the unit is done; there is no repair for a rusted-through tank. Sediment on the bottom, a consumed anode rod and a leaking relief valve are the earlier warnings.
//At Done-Rite
