Who handles plumbing repairs in Dana Point, CA?

We're a family-owned, independent plumbing company. Our crew is licensed, bonded and insured, and covered by workers compensation. We answer with a 1-hour response, and our regular hours are 6:00am to 7:00pm every day. On this page, we dig into two topics homeowners ask about often: choosing a water heater and treating the water that comes into the house.
Tank or tankless: which water heater fits your home?
It depends on how much hot water you use at once, how long you plan to stay and your budget. Both types work well when they're sized right.
How does a tank water heater work?
A tank heater keeps a set amount of water hot all day, ready to use. When you run through it, you wait for the tank to heat a fresh batch. Tanks cost less up front and are simple to repair. Our tank water heater installs run $2,300 to $3,200 installed, and we use Bradford White. You can read more on our water heater installation page.
What changes with a tankless unit?
A tankless heater warms water only when you turn on a tap. Water passes through a heat exchanger, and you get a steady stream for as long as you need it. These units take up less space and don't spend energy keeping a full tank hot. They do cost more up front. Tankless installs run $4,000 to $6,000 installed, and we work with Navien, Noritz and Rinnai. Our tank vs. tankless comparison lays out the pros and cons in one place.
How do you size a new water heater?
We look at how many people live in the home, how many bathrooms you have and whether you run several showers or appliances at the same time. A tank that's too small runs out fast. A tankless unit that's too small can't keep up when two showers run together. Getting the size right matters more than the brand.
Can you save on the switch?
You get $100 off any replacement when we supply the material. Financing is available too, with terms up to 10 years. We pull the permit when one is required.
Does water treatment really help your plumbing?
It can. Treatment reduces minerals and other things in the water that leave scale, spots and buildup inside pipes, fixtures and water heaters.
What does hard water do inside a home?
Hard water carries dissolved calcium and magnesium. When it's heated, those minerals drop out and form scale. Scale coats the inside of a water heater, clogs showerheads and aerators, and leaves white crust on faucets. It also makes soap harder to rinse off. Over years, that buildup can shorten the life of water heaters and fixtures. Our hard water basics guide explains how it works.
Softener, filter or reverse osmosis?
Each one solves a different problem. A water softener swaps hardness minerals out to cut scale. A whole-home filter targets taste, odor and some contaminants at every tap. A reverse osmosis system sits under the sink and makes very clean drinking water. Many homes pair two of them. Our water treatment comparison helps you sort it out, and water testing shows what's actually in your water before you choose.
What other plumbing work can we take care of?
All of it. Clogged drains, sewer lines, leaks, burst pipes, toilets, faucets and gas lines are part of our everyday work.
Our drain cleaning runs $99 to $350, and the $99 price includes a camera inspection for one qualifying drain with an exterior ground-level cleanout, and yard drains aren't included. For heavy grease or scale in a line, hydro jetting runs $650 to $850. If you suspect a hidden leak, our electronic leak detection helps pinpoint it before anything gets opened up. When a plumbing emergency hits after hours, our 24/7 emergency service is a phone call away.
What should you do if your water heater starts leaking?
First, turn off the cold water valve on the pipe that feeds the top of the tank. Then shut off the power for an electric unit, or turn the gas control to "off" or "pilot" for a gas unit. Put a towel or pan under the drip and move anything that could get wet. A small drip from the relief valve may be a part issue. Water coming from the tank body usually means the tank has failed. Our water heater emergency repair service handles both, and the guide on signs your water heater is failing can help you catch trouble earlier.
