//Glossary
Trenchless pipe lining
Rehabilitating a sewer lateral from inside the existing pipe, through small access pits, instead of digging a trench along its length. A resin-saturated liner is installed and cured to form a new pipe inside the old one.
When does lining make sense?
When the old pipe is still mostly in place and mostly round, when the break is under a driveway, hardscape or mature landscaping that would be expensive to restore, and when access at each end is workable. The liner follows the existing path, so it cannot fix a bad slope on its own.
When does it not?
A collapsed section, a badly bellied run, or a line with too many turns and taps can rule lining out. The location of the break and how hard it is to reach make the determination, and that varies from job to job.
//At Done-Rite
Trenchless pricing varies by job and is driven by access difficulty and the location of the break, so Done-Rite quotes it only after a camera inspection.
