//Glossary
Electronic leak detection
Finding a hidden water leak with instruments instead of exploratory demolition: acoustic listening equipment that hears water escaping a pressurized line, pressure testing to isolate which line is losing water, and related tools to narrow the location to a small area.
How accurate is it?
Accurate enough that the repair opening is a spot, not a trench. The technician isolates the leaking line with a pressure test, then listens along its path to find the point of loudest escape, and marks it. Under a slab, that mark is what decides where the concrete opens.
What does a leak detection visit cost?
Done-Rite has not published a flat leak detection price. There is no trip charge, and the visit ends with a marked location and a written repair option rather than a guess.
