Hot water recirculation
A pump and return line (or a crossover valve) that keeps hot water moving through the pipes so it arrives at the tap quickly instead of after a long wait. Common in larger homes and in commercial buildings.
Does recirculation affect a water heater choice?
Yes. A recirculation loop changes how a tankless unit is sized and controlled, and a pump that runs constantly can shorten equipment life. Tell the installer if the house has one, or if the wait for hot water is the reason you are calling.
