//Glossary
Repipe (whole-house repiping)
Replacing the water supply piping throughout a house with new pipe, usually because the existing pipe is failing everywhere rather than in one place. The old lines are abandoned or removed and new lines are run to every fixture.
What decides the price of a repipe?
Mostly the number of bathrooms, because each one adds fixtures and pipe runs. Access, foundation type and finishes matter too, and a repipe is permitted and inspected work.
How do I know a house needs a repipe rather than a repair?
Repeated pinhole leaks in copper, galvanized lines rusted nearly shut, rusty or discolored water, and pressure that drops when two fixtures run. One leak is a repair; a pattern is a repipe.
//At Done-Rite
Done-Rite whole-house repiping runs $18,000 to $30,000 depending on the number of bathrooms. Financing is available with terms up to 10 years.
